Light Spring

Light Spring is the lightest and most delicate of the spring seasons. The coloring is light first and warm second: think blue, green or light hazel eyes, golden-blonde to light strawberry hair and peachy or ivory skin. Contrast between features is low. Light, warm and clear colors make Light Springs glow; anything dark or heavy overwhelms them.

Frequently asked questions

What colors should a Light Spring avoid?

Avoid dark, heavy and very muted colors: black, charcoal, burgundy, chocolate brown and dusty greyed shades. They're too deep for light coloring and make the face look shadowed. Very cool icy pastels can also look cold against warm skin.

Can a Light Spring wear black or white?

Black is the hardest color for a Light Spring — swap it for soft navy, light camel or warm grey. Optic white is too stark; ivory, cream and warm off-white are far more flattering.

What hair colors suit a Light Spring?

Golden blonde, honey, strawberry blonde and light warm brown with soft golden highlights. Avoid ash tones, very dark shades and jet black — they add contrast your features don't have.

What's the difference between Light Spring and Light Summer?

Both are light and low-contrast. The difference is temperature: Light Spring leans warm (peach, ivory, gold), Light Summer leans cool (powder blue, rose, silver). If peach flatters you more than rose pink, you lean spring.

What metals and jewelry suit a Light Spring?

Light gold, rose gold and polished brass. Pearls in cream or peach tones work beautifully. Heavy, dark or oxidized metals are too strong.
